Sydney Sand

Sydney sand is a fine triple washed dune sand that comes from the Sydney beaches. It is mainly used for plastering, rendering, tiling, grouting, concreting and ideal for children’s sand pits. It can be used to sweep on top of the joints in between pavers and be used as a fine sand to top dress lawns.

Off White Brickie Sand (also known as Bricklayers’ White)

White Brickies Sand is a fatty, white colored natural sand blend that has its gradding and clay/silt content tested daily to assure its suitability as a Bricklaying Sand. Because of the clay content in the sand it is useful as mortar in block and bricklaying, as well as in bagging for walls.

To take full advantage of this clean finish, it is recommended that Off White Brickie Sand is mixed with Blue Circle Off White Cement when face bricks are laid. For rendered finished walls, Blue Circle General Purpose Cement is commonly used.

This sand also has good compacting properties making it suitable for use under pools and pond liners. As the colour can vary in sands and if you need a consistent look or finish, be mindful to order allof the sand for your job in one batch.

Maroota White Brickie Sand

Maroota White Brickie Sand is a ‘fatty’ sand most used for brick and block work. ‘Fatty’ sand refers to the high clay content in the sand, which repels water allowing the sand to become stickier and more workable when mixed with cement.

Maroota White Brickie Sand provides a cleaner and brighter looking finish to bricklayers mortar than Yellow Brickie Sand does. To take full advantage of this clean finish, it is recommended that White Brickie Sand is mixed with Blue Circle Off White Cement or Southern White Cement.

Yellow Brickie Sand

Yellow Brickie sand is used as a brick-and block-laying mortar, and for bagging. The yellow colour gives a grey mortar when mixed with Blue Circle General Purpose Cement.

The fatty consistency of yellow brickie’s sand makes it ideal for use under pond liners and under above-ground pool liners, as it holds its shape well when compacted. The clay in the mix makes for a thicker, sticky consistency, which spreads and holds well.

River Sand

River sand is a washed coarse sand. Due to its excellent compacting properties, it is commonly used as bedding sand for underneath paving, underground pipework, drainage mediums and kerb & gutter installations.

With it being a washed sand, it is recommended for use as a base under pavers reducing the risk of salts leaching through your pavers.

Yellow Fill Sand

Yellow Fill sand is a washed coarse sand that can be used as backfill material under slabs, or as a bedding sand around pipes or conduit in trenches. It is golden yellow in colour.
